Is that a carrot in your hair?

8th February 2010 by Lauren // Leave a comment...

Well, here’s our next brave Angel, happy to share with you all the time when she thought colouring was a good idea…In Yishyene’s own words –

“WHAT WAS I THINKING?

Did I think I was going to star in the next episode of Thundercats as Lion-O’s sidekick? Or perhaps I was going to conduct electricity with my hair. Maybe even be the next thing that’s visible from outer space? Whatever it was, I thought WRONG!

Although, it wasn’t entirely my fault – I had chosen the colour to be red but the colourist was either colour-blind or really hated my guts. A few days later I had to buy some deep purple dye from Boots to fix my horrible carrot-streak hair.”

Don’t worry Yishyene, we’re loving the cute bob you’re sporting now, and not a carrot in sight!

Thanks for sending your great pic in, now let’s see if this can’t be beaten –who else has a photo of their hair ‘mare? Or even a hair disaster story they’d like to share? Send your photo or story in now, or why not make your own hair ‘mare post and get your community involved?  I bet everyone’s got a good story, so let’s get them out there!

Hair ‘Mare Time!!

3rd February 2010 by Lauren // Leave a comment...

Right! Here to kick things off are two brave Angels keen to share with you some seriously poor past hair decisions (and haven’t we all made them!)

I think this ‘mare is best explained in Tor’s own words…

“When I was younger and crazier I shaved my head, then had it in a mini mo-hawk and coloured it every colour under the sun: myself. It was not a good look! I was trying to look sophisticated and sleek, but unfortunately my attempt at ash blonde turned out grey/blue!!

And of course there is the big “self dyed” blob of yellow at the front: I really don’t know what I’m smiling about!”

Tor, I’m sure we’re all in agreement that your hair is looking gorgeous now!

Who else has gone down the crazy colour route, or rocked the mini Mohawk look?  We know you’re out there!

Next up is the lovely Helen, who usually looks like this –

Some years ago though, Helen decided black was the new brunette –

As Helen puts it –

“Unfortunately it is not a bad 80’s rock star wig and is my actual hair! I think the worst thing about it was that I had my hair like this for about a year and thought I looked fantastic!”

Ah bless, I think the goth look has called out to all of us at some point…hasn’t it??  You know it has.

Email us, comment, and remember we’ll be choosing a “winner” each week, so it’s worth your while to share in the fun…or humiliation, whatever you want to call it!

Aussie’s Australia Day

1st February 2010 by Lauren // Leave a comment...

For those of you who don’t know, last Tuesday was Australia Day. Aussie always celebrates in appropriate fashion (with plenty of partying!), but this year we thought it’d be great to get some ‘outside help’ in letting our hair down.

Three lucky Angels of the North and three from Ol’ London town were handpicked to create their very own Aussie Day event, giving them the opportunity to invite who they wanted and create a VIP Australia Day party of their very own.

In Leeds, Kelly, Daisy and Victoria chose TigerTiger as their venue and threw an Aussie beach party. There was limbo (check out the hilarious photos here), didgeridoo playing, drinks and BBQ nibbles, as well as Aussie Awards and goody bags for each guest to take home. The Leeds ladies did a fabulous job of hosting the entire evening; well done guys!

Our London team, Jenny, Amy and Hannah, went for an ‘I’m a Celebrity’ Australian jungle party, appropriately hosted at the Rainforest Cafe. There was a mini catwalk show, Aussie drinks and food, Polaroid cameras to take snaps of all the catwalk queens, awards and goody bags for all the guests.  The London lasses really did a sterling job of hosting the evening, well done to you too!

See below for photos of both events, or click here for more…

Thanks to all the Angel hosts, you guys are awesome and we hope you had a great night!

P.S Keep sending the hair mares in!  We LOVE what we’ve seen so far, so get involved and we’ll start sharing them!
