Angel Spotlight…Kavita from i heart vintage x

Why did you call your blog iheartvintagex?
Because I like to think my blog revolves around everything vintage I guess!

When did you start blogging and why?
About a year ago, and just because of some of the other amazing blogs I’d come across just inspired me!

Who inspires you / who’s your style crush?
Obviously Alexa Chung is a huge influence when it comes to vintage style for me, and I would definitely say bloggers and people on lookbook inspire me the most!!

What’s the best part of being a blogger? And the worst?
The best is probably making friends and meeting people at events, and knowing you have inspired someone! The worst is the hate and jealousy you get from people, and I also dislike the idea of people you know seeing your blog, and it can be a little embarrassing!

Who or what have you been reading this year (your favourite blog)?
Ahhh there are just too many! My all time favourite is the lovely Carrie from wishwishwish‘s blog, she was my favourite from the start! Then I love dailyfashionboost, ohemma & sequinbuttons. I love the blogs about thrifting and carbooting in particular, cause they’re just like mine.

Winter soon! What does Autumn / Winter mean to you?
Knit cardigans, browns/khakis/maroons/burgundy’s, thick scarves, gorgeous vintage-esque coats and boots! I love the colours of a/w the best.. and I quite like that bright florals are going away as I’m getting quite sick of them at the moment haha.

What’s your favourite Aussie product? Why?
The volume and gloss hairspray hands down. It’s my favourite hair product EVER. And it is because it holds and actually makes my hair thicker.. and it smells good as well.

What’s been the best part of being an Aussie Angel so far?
Meeting amazing people, going to amazing events and learning a lot about hair!

What would you like to see from Aussie and the Angel project in the future?
Just the same amazing events being put on, I think they already do an amazing job :)

Angel of the week…Lucy from Snippets of Shiny Thoughts!

Why did you call your blog Snippets of Shiny Thoughts?
I loved the idea of blog posts being little snippets of my life that I shared with the world. I then wanted to evoke the idea of bright little things that excited me that I would wirte about above anything else that happened. So thats where the ‘shiny thoughts’ was added! I nickname it ‘Shiny Thoughts’ though as it’s a tad too long!

When did you start blogging and why?
I started in May 2009 just after the end of my fashion foundation course. It was at that time that I was really getting into reading blogs (cherry blossom girl, Daydream Lily etc) and thought that I would be expected to start one for my degree. To get in there before the others, I thought I’d establish myself early! mahaha!

Who inspires you / who’s your style crush?
My best friend Carrie from wishwishwish.net inspires me to blog and to keep reaching for higher quality. We don’t blog in the same style but I’d love to be as renowned as her! Clothes-wise I love Shini’s look from Park and Cube and Paloma Faith/Florence Welch for party dressing!

What’s the best part of being a blogger? And the worst?
The best are the parties/events/gatherings/free things as well as getting lovely comments. I also love editing my photos and being pleased with a post. I’m pleased that I have something to show potential employers that I make an effort. The worst is when you feel you should blog when actually you have far more important things to do. Why are we slaves to it?!

Who or what have you been reading this year (your favourite blog)?
wishwishwish.net I love Miss Pandora, exPress-o and Park and Cube but all for different reasons. I’m still searching for that perfect blog that is my poppy sort of style.

Winter soon! What does Autumn / Winter mean to you?
FREEZING FINGER BLOGGING! Depressive, grey, cold, grim v.s cuddly, festive and pretty trees.

What’s your favourite Aussie product? Why?
The serum, It doesn’t just add shine but also seems to make my hair lighter : )

What’s been the best part of being an Aussie Angel so far?
I’ve loved being looked after by Emma! Haha well, the hair party and being given the chance to have yummy hair with their complimentary products – too kind!

What would you like to see from Aussie and the Angel project in the future?
Maybe more personal advice on how I can manage my mop and quick tutorials on how to manage it? Just keep being yummy!

Angel Spotlight… Harriet from Where is Harriet?

Why did you call your blog Where is Harriet?
Well I thought I was being a bit clever as if people ask me ‘what’s your blog address’ I could reply ‘Just search ‘where is harriet?’ and you’ll find me!’ Er, yes… it may only be me that finds that funny!

When did you start blogging and why?
I read soooo many blogs before getting the courage to start my own! I loved having this little peek into a slice of other people’s lives, expecially seeing the amazing outfit photos and hair and beauty tips by fashion bloggers. I love the idea of being able to produce something creative and say ‘yes, I made that!’ I can’t paint or sing or play an instrument so blogging is my art!

Who inspires you / who’s your style crush?
I have so many style crushes! I love anyone who manages to look put together and polished, as I rarely seem to get the hang of this! Dita Von Teese, Blair Waldorf and Diane Kruger for example. I have a massive hair crush on Nicola Roberts from Girls Aloud – so much volume, and such an amazing colour! Clearly she would be a member of the Aussome Volume tribe if she was an Aussie Angel!

What’s the best part of being a blogger? And the worst?
The best is definitely the people. I love meeting other bloggers and discussing bloggy things, and everytime someone new reads my blog, or leaves a comment saying something nice it makes my day!

The worst is writers (bloggers?!) block. Some weeks when I’m busy and all I’ve done is go to work and come home again I sit in front of my screen and thing ‘Oh no! What on earth am I going to write about?’

Who or what have you been reading this year (your favourite blog)?
I don’t have to pick just one, do I?! That would be impossible! I love Wishwishwish and Pinkbow for their amazing photography, A Little Bird Told Me, HiFashion and Leia’s Delights for the amazing community they’ve built through their blogs, Niotillfem and Vintage Reflection have such amazing signature styles, Afeitar whose baking always makes my mouth water…. I could go on for ages! One of my favourite things about Aussie is how it’s brought me into contact with so many new blogs I hadn’t read before. My bloglovin account is ridiculously full!

Winter soon! What does Autumn / Winter mean to you?
Winter means long socks and hats and gloves, tiptoeing through snow in high heels, yummy soup, fireworks and hot water bottles!

What’s your favourite Aussie product? Why?
The Aussome Volume and Conditioning Mousse changed my hair forever. It’s seriously good. I always envied people with thick, volumous hair and now I can have it too!

What’s been the best part of being an Aussie Angel so far?
I absolutely loved attending the Aussome Volume tribe party. It was so fantastic meeting so many lovely bloggers, and being transformed to 60s Motown Goddesses by the amazing stylists.

What would you like to see from Aussie and the Angel project in the future?
I am looking forward to more events, not to mention the publishing of the hair tips book – can’t wait to get my hands on a copy! (Editor: The Style Bible has since been published and Harriet does indeed love it!)

Angel Spotlight… Katy from Rotten Otter!

Why did you call your blog Rotten Otter’s Thoughts?
Rotten Otter came about when I was thinking of a new email address with a friend, there was a leaflet on the table about rotten offers and somehow it turned into rotten otter. Since then it’s what I’ve used for everything and seemed perfect for my blog name, I added thoughts on the end as my blog is full of my rambles and ideas.

When did you start blogging and why?
I started blogging just over a year ago and have loved every minute! I remember watching Juicystar07’s video on how to create a Lauren Conrad braid which is how I came across the beauty community. I wasn’t really interested in making my own videos but when I discovered everyone’s blogs I knew I wanted to make my own.

Who inspires you / who’s your style crush?
Blogs inspire me so much; they are such enablers when it comes to buying things! My style crush has to be Lauren Conrad, so clichéd but I really do love her effortless style. From her clothes, to her hair, to her make-up she always looks so well put together.

What’s the best part of being a blogger? And the worst?
The best part of being a blogger for me is the creative outlet; I can combine my beauty product obsession with my love for photography. I’ve also met so many lovely people which I never expected when I started. I think the worst is when you have writer’s block! We all go through it and it’s really annoying when it happens.

Who or what have you been reading this year (your favourite blog)?
I don’t think I could pick just one favourite beauty blog but I always look forward to posts from Maylovesmakeup, Lipglossiping, Zoella, Lollipop Loves, Makeup savy, just to name a few! My favourite style blog is Marianna from Mariannann, I love her photographs despite not being able to understand what she writes as she’s from Finland. Google translator does not always work!

Winter soon! What does Autumn / Winter mean to you?
My favourite seasons! I love going out all wrapped up, winter coat, hat, scarf, gloves and a great pair of boots then coming home and having a hot chocolate. I also love winter as it’s when my whole family gets together from all over the UK and usually stays at mine.

What’s your favourite Aussie product? Why?
My favourite has to be the leave in conditioner; I’ve just started my second bottle! I use it every time I wash my hair and whenever I feel my hair needs a little pick me up. It’s perfect for the day after I curl my hair and it’s feeling dry and damaged. One great thing is you can’t feel the product in your hair; it doesn’t weigh it down or feel sticky.

What’s been the best part of being an Aussie Angel so far?
Meeting everyone! It’s great to put a face to the blogs I’ve been reading for the past year or so.

What would you like to see from Aussie and the Angel project in the future?
More great events and more products to fall in love with!
