Luscious Long Princesses unite!

If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably been wondering where Prince Charming’s been all your life. Well, this weekend we were in for a surprise as he just happened to show up to our Luscious Long Tribe Fairytale party! That’s right, on Saturday night Prince Charming, Cinderella, Snow White, our Luscious Long tribe members and their Luscious guests all descended upon the VIP room at Avalon in East London, to be swept up into a magical evening of hair, frolics and fantasy.

Once everyone had arrived, there was a quick welcome speech followed by 2 demonstrations on how to do up-do’s with long hair by our Aussie stylists Amber and Zara. Whilst demonstrating each step of what they were creating, the stylists also discussed the best way to take care of long hair, and which products to use – the Luscious Long range of course! The eucalyptus in the range is perfect for long hair, as it cleans, nourishes and protects hair from fly-aways but doesn’t weigh the hair down.

Hayley’s retro do was created using a round brush and the Aussome  Volume hairspray, giving her up – do a boost whilst holding it in place. Zoe’s rapunzelesque plait was created with a quick blowdry and a spritz or two of the Luscious Long leave-in conditioner before being plaited and finished off with a pretty flower.

When the demo’s were over the party got into full swing, giving the Luscious Long tribe members the chance to meet, mingle and bond over their long hair trials and tribulations, and between chats everyone got to visit the stylists to have a hair makeover.

Cinderella arrived, albeit missing a shoe, but luckily Prince Charming was close behind her, ready to reunite her with it. There was a touching moment when he placed her shoe back on, however poor Snow White wasn’t too happy about the whole thing, as apparently Cinders wasn’t the only one he’d charmed. As the Angels will attest to, Prince Charming did indeed live up to his name!

By the end of the night, everyone had shared how they care for their lusciously long hair, met their fellow tribe members and been chatted up by Prince Charming – always a good Saturday night when that happens!

Aussie to the Rescue! hits Leeds…

Cue the caped kangaroo because Aussie were out in force again last night, this time to rescue our Leeds Angels with a little help from the experts. There’s more to life than hair but it’s a good place to start – this is the Aussie philosophy, and ‘round here we like to take it quite literally! This meant that we had a hair stylist, clothes stylist and makeup artist on hand to demonstrate looks and styles on the Angels to help them look good and feel great.

Sinead, Carla, Catherine, Liloo, Briony-Lou, Phoebe and Daisy all popped by our luxury penthouse to be greeted and treated with champagne cocktails from our bartender Ian, followed by hair styling with Amber, and then a session in makeup with Cassie and a consultation with our stylist Steven to complement their hair.

We asked the girls to think of what hair styles they’ve never tried or have been unable to do themselves, and then Amber got to work creating the look they were after, whilst talking them step by step through how to do it themselves at home.

Each step of the way all tips were written down by the stylists and the Angels, so by the end of the night everyone was armed to the teeth with the tips and tricks the experts were sharing.

This do on Phoebe was created using the Hi Shine hairspray, Aussome Volume mousse and Velcro rollers – Phoebe kept them in for a good 20minutes and then voila! Beautiful waves and shine!

So, keep your eyes peeled for what our Angels thought of this fun and informative night, and stay tuned for where our superhero Roo will be bounding next…Aussie, to the Rescue!

Aussome Times with Aussie…

Hey cool cats, last Thursday saw the first of our Aussome Volume Tribe parties swing into action, and wow was it a happening night! Held in the Rehearsal Room at Adam st Members Club in London (where ‘50s and 60’s musicians used to actually rehearse!), the theme was 1960’s with an early-Motown twist.

Once all our Aussome Volume members and their guests had arrived, we had a quick welcome speech by yours truly, followed by  a chat with our hairstylists on the topic of most interest to the tribe – how to get your hair to reach new heights!

We found out that the Aussome Volume shampoo and conditioner’s magic ingredient is hops, which is also found in beer (but it won’t give you a beer belly, we promise!), and the mousse that gives you va va voom contains cherry bark, a special Aussie bark that adds bounce and shine.

Check out the amazing volume and shine Hannah, Amy S, Amy and Zoe achieved after Amber and Zara styled their hair using the Aussome Volume products, wow!

The demo was quickly followed by cocktails and individual hair styling, as our stylists Amber and Zara got to work creating beautiful beehives and voluminous barnets, using the Aussome Volume mousse and hair spray.

The night would not have been complete without a little music, and it came in the form of the brilliant Shola K, who rocked all the classics whilst looking ultra glam in her evening frock and Supreme – esque wig. By the second set we all took it turns to join her on stage, singing our hearts out and hogging the microphone whenever we got the chance!

There’s more to life than hair…

But it’s a good place to start! That’s the Aussie philosophy, and also what Wednesday’s Aussie to the Rescue! evening was all about.

A total of ten lovely local London Angels descended upon our luxury apartment at the Hempel at 7pm, to enjoy a cocktail or two and learn from our crack team of Aussie experts about how to achieve looks that they can easily recreate at home.

The Angels had been asked to think about any “life situations” they had coming up, or to have a look for any catwalk or magazine pics that had inspired them but they just weren’t sure they could do on their own. From there, our hair stylists Amber and Zara got to work, creating styles and talking the Angels step by step through which Aussie products were needed to achieve the look, how to use them, and how to actually pull the whole look together.

Our makeup artist Jo was also there to complete the look, and our favourite stylist Steven was on hand to delve deep into what suited who and how to throw together an outfit to rock any occasion, from work to weddings and everything in between.

Check out here for the full range of pics, or take a look here for Sherin’s take on the evening, and here for Kirsty’s experience.

Want in on the action too? Well don’t worry as we’ll be hosting another #ATTR in Leeds and a second one in London, so watch this space!

‘Allo Sailors, it’s the Miracle Moist Tribe!

Ahoy me hearties! Saturday night saw the second of our Aussie Tribe parties being held, with this one bringing together members of the Miracle Moist Tribe (especially for girls with dry hair) for a naughty nautical party in Birmingham.

Once we’d all arrived, bedecked in sailor hats, stripes and various nautical themed attire, (including a fab anchor tattoo on Fi’s arm!) the evening kick started with a quick welcome by Aussie Emma (moi), followed by chats with the Aussie Stylists Amber and Zara, who talked us through how best to care for dry hair, and the best way to use the products from the Aussie Miracle Moist range.

Katy and Emily were asked to be the hair models for our stylists to demonstrate a couple of do’s (why can’t I just have a stylist living in my closet every morning??) and then one by one everyone took it in turns to have their hair styled by the pro’s.

In the meantime, any sailor worth his salt loves a thimble of gin or two, so it was only fitting to treat our Miracle Moist Tribe members to a cocktail master class! Everyone was able to go behind the bar and make their own attempt at a cocktail, whilst macadamia nuts in treasure chests were on hand to compliment the scrumptious drinks (macadamias are the main ingredient of the Miracle Moist range, but they’re not just good for your hair, they’re absolutely delish too!)

If you want to check out the all the pics then click here , and I’ll be keeping you updated over the week with what our Angels have to say about the night, so sit tight!
