As anyone who came along will tell you, last Saturday’s Aussie Bloggers’ Christmas Market really was a fantastic day of girly goodness! The milder weather meant a terrific turnout of Angels, guests and fellow bloggers (plus even a mum and dad thrown in there too!)
The highlight of the day had to be the Angel stalls – the London gals really pulled out all the stops to showcase their varied array of talent. We had Sherin on hand to share her boxing and self defence skills (we were loving her super-cute pink boxing gloves!), and Amina and Shifa were creating gorgeous makeovers all day – they were in such demand we had to start a booking sheet!
Charlie brought along beautiful cupcakes and treats, Lil arranged a book exchange and shared her short stories on beautiful scroll-like notes, Kavita brought her colours for a day of face painting and Fi helped us get into the spirit with a spot of Christmas card making!
Lucy shared her fashion portfolio and began a drawing club (which turned into a dinosaur-drawing club towards the end of the day – don’t ask!), Emma championed the non-profit initiative Give and Makeup, which invites people to donate their unused cosmetics and products to women in need at Refuge, and Rachel set up her stall to promote her gorgeous new line of jewellery; Pretty Cherished. Finally, Vic was there to showcase her beautiful illustrations, and to introduce a new concept she has been working called Bespoke for the Brain, which explores the relationship between mental health and colours.
In addition to the stalls, we once again had our 5 different tribal salons where guests could pick their tribe and then have their hair dry styled, or if they preferred we also had the Take The Heat challenge, which many girls took up with gusto!
Not only were their stylists though, we also brought to life the Tribe Mascots – see here for how they began. What do you think Angels, were they spot on? We hope you loved them as much as we did!
We also had our experts Elizabeth Clarke the Flirt Guru and Jill Pollitt the catwalk coach, and over in the speakers’ corner we had Cate from Bitch Buzz talking about everything from blogging to journalism, Carlo from The Round Peg discussing photography, and Lena from Style High Club speaking on Vintage Fashion. Phew!
There was also mulled wine, an Aussie BBQ, and last but certainly not least our Aussie Hunks arrived to hand out goodies – you should have seen the flock when their arrival was announced!
There are some great pics of the day if you click here, and we’ll share with you what our Angels and guests thought of the day too, so sit tight!
